The Power of Teamwork
When every second counts, precision and teamwork make all the difference, whether you're changing tires on pit road or moving pallets across a warehouse floor.
On Sunday, October 19, Carolina Handling is taking those values to the track as we partner with Spire Motorsports to sponsor Michael McDowell and the No. 71 Chevrolet at Talladega Superspeedway. It's a high-speed stage that, in many ways, mirrors what we do every day in the world of material handling and intralogistics: perform under pressure quickly and efficiently, and rely on expertise.
In NASCAR, a pit crew operates like a well-oiled machine. Each member has a specific job and executes in perfect sync and timing, with no room for hesitation. That same level of coordination drives success inside the warehouse, where teamwork keeps facilities running efficiently and safely. A breakdown in communication or timing could mean lost productivity, missed deliveries or downtime.
Carolina Handling's 1.1-hour average response time for breakdown calls highlights our commitment to urgency and precision, helping our customers stay on track. Like a top-performing race team, our associates work hand in hand with customers to deliver solutions focused on process efficiency and productivity.
Speed Without Sacrifice
Fast doesn't mean reckless. In racing, everything is about speed and efficiency. A four-tire stop can be completed in under nine seconds, but that requires preparation, data and flawless execution.
In the warehouse, efficiency is about consistency. We optimize systems and equipment so associates can work faster and safer, from lift trucks and automation solutions to fleet management and analytics. Our commitment to service and reliability helps customers meet demanding expectations without compromising safety or quality.
Precision Drives Performance
Just like a driver trusts the crew to have every detail dialed in, our customers trust us to keep their operations moving. Whether it's maintaining a fleet of forklifts or designing a fully automated system, precision keeps everything on track.
Every repair, inspection and consultation we perform is an opportunity to fine-tune performance. In motorsports and material handling, small adjustments can lead to big results.
Shared Values, Shared Drive
Our partnership with Spire Motorsports and Michael McDowell celebrates shared values: speed, precision, teamwork and a commitment to excellence. These qualities are embedded in the DNA of our associates and our approach to customer service.
Talladega is one of the fastest and most thrilling races of the year. It's the perfect stage to showcase our shared drive for innovation, collaboration and performance.
Our New Home in Easley, SC
We recently opened our new 264,544-square-foot facility in Pickens County, South Carolina. Located in the new Speedway Business & Technology Park in Easley, near the former Greenville-Pickens Speedway, this move was more than a change of address. It celebrates the next chapter in Carolina Handling’s story.
The facility combines the warehouse and office space from four Upstate operations under one roof. The 23.2 million dollar investment, in partnership with RealtyLink, will create 100 new jobs in South Carolina over five years.
The location and scale of the facility position us for the future, and also honor the community's long-standing connection to speed and innovation.
“Carolina Handling has experienced extraordinary growth in the past few years. The location in Pickens County, size and features of our new facility will position us for future growth as we continue our evolution from a forklift-only provider to an integrated material handling solutions company. By bringing our operations across the Upstate region of South Carolina under one roof, we’re increasing efficiency while giving customers a place to explore cutting-edge solutions and experience our capabilities firsthand,” said Carolina Handling President & CEO Brent Hillabrand.
The new facility includes warehouse space to accommodate technician bays for new, rental and renewed equipment, as well as parts, distribution and logistics operations. The facility also includes office space, meeting and training facilities and a Customer Experience Center, where visitors can explore integrated automation technologies and see live equipment demonstrations.
Carolina Handling leaders hope the new facility will also serve as a community resource, offering tour opportunities for local schools and helping to develop a pipeline of innovative, skilled talent.
When Michael McDowell, driver of Spire Motorsports’ No. 71 Chevrolet ZL1 visited the new building in September, he highlighted the natural alignment between Carolina Handling and racing, where success is driven by speed, efficiency and teamwork.
Looking Ahead
As we cheer on Michael McDowell at Talladega on October 19, we also look toward the future. Carolina Handling will celebrate 60 years in business in 2026. The company marked a milestone this fall, growing to more than 900 associates across the five-state footprint.
Our mission remains the same: to be elite in service to each other, our customers and our community. Innovation continues to drive our work, and we are committed to performance that moves businesses forward.
