The Raymond Corporation has named Carolina Handling a Dealer of Distinction (DOD) for the 32nd year in a row. Given annually to the top performers among Raymond Solutions and Support Centers throughout North America, 2022 DOD designation was awarded to only seven Raymond dealers.
Other Raymond dealers receiving 2022 DOD recognition are: New York-based Abel Womack; G.N. Johnston Equipment Co. Ltd. of Ontario, Canada; Missouri-based Heubel Shaw; Malin USA of Texas; Raymond West of California; and Florida-based D. Welch Equipment Co.
The 2022 DOD award comes at a time when warehouses and distribution centers are experiencing dramatic and swift operational changes, and during a period of steady growth for Carolina Handling
Customer demands for automation continue to increase, driven primarily by a boom in the retail industry that is pushing immediate and efficient order fulfilment. A total intralogistics solutions provider, Carolina Handling offers a broad range of consulting, connected technologies, material handling equipment and service to support the growing and changing needs of the industry. The company hired more than 160 new associates in 2022 and is on track to hire another 100 this year to meet customer needs.
“The bigger we get, the easier it would be to become fragmented and not work as a team,” said Carolina Handling President & CEO Brent Hillabrand. “Winning the DOD award year after year is a testament to our teamwork. The consistency with which our associates perform as teams in the different areas of our business is the reason that we continue to succeed.”
Being named a Dealer of Distinction is based on points scored in the categories of Market Share, Financial Performance, Customer Support Performance, Service Contract Growth and Scheduled Maintenance Completion, Raymond Lean Management, iWarehouse® Solutions, Purchase of Lease Maturities, Forecast Accuracy and Energy Storage Solutions. Categories cover virtually all areas of the business including sales, service, parts, rentals, leasing, continuous improvement, power and intralogistics solutions.
A point of pride for Carolina Handling associates, the Dealer of Distinction award also boosts the Carolina Handling brand in the material handling marketplace, according to Hillabrand.
“As a customer, you know you’re getting the most well-rounded and consistent support you could ever dream of because of the way we perform year after year against our peers,” he said.
The Dealer of Distinction Award comes on the heels of Carolina Handling’s receiving the 2023 MVP (Most Valuable Partner) Award from the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association (MHEDA) for excellence in customer service, supplier relationships, associate training and community involvement. MVP award recipients must satisfy a rigorous set of criteria with less than 10 percent of MHEDA’s nearly 600 members earning the award.
To qualify for the annual MVP Award, companies are required to provide evidence of their commitment to employees, customers and suppliers, satisfying criteria in: Industry Advocacy; Customer Service & Safety Practices; Business Networking; Continuing Education; and Business Best Practices.
